Igado - New Recipe

- 900 grams of pork tenderloin (sliced into 2-inch strips) shopping list
- 450 grams of pork liver ( sliced into 2-inch strips) shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup of green peas shopping list
- 1 big carrot (cut into strips) shopping list
- 1 tbsp of Minced garlic shopping list
- 1 onion (diced) shopping list
- 1 big Green or red bell pepper ( cut into strips) shopping list
- 3 pieces of Laurel/bay leaves shopping list
- 3 tbsp of light soy sauce (kikkoman) shopping list
- 2 tbsp of vinegar shopping list
- 1/2 cup of water shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- 2 tbsp of cooking oil shopping list
How to make it
- Heat the cooking oil in a pan and saute garlic and onion.
- Add pork, season with salt and pepper. Cook until it turns light brown.
- Pour in soy sauce. Mix well with the pork.
- Add water and simmer until the pork is tender.
- Add Laurel/Bay leaves.
- Add liver. Stir.
- Add vinegar and simmer for 10 minutes. (do not stir).
- Add the carrots and simmer for 3 minutes.
- Add green peas and bell peppers.
- Simmer. Allow the water to evaporate until the sauce thickens.
- Season with more salt and pepper to suit your taste.

Have you bought stock in Kikkoman? I'll never find pork liver but bee liver should do. So what's new? Another "I just gotta try that" recipe. Thanks for the post. RJ
