How to make it

  • Heat raw rice in pan with oil or butter stirring constantly a few minutes to color rice a pale golden.
  • Add the water or broth along with saffron and a tsp salt and bring mixture to a boil.
  • Cover and simmer until rice has absorbed the liquid.
  • Remove from heat and let sit 5 minutes.
  • Add nuts and raisins and stir and fluff with a fork ( not spoon ) and season to taste.
