How to make it

  • Combine apples,sugar,tapioca,lemon juice,apple pie spice,and salt.
  • Place in 8x8x2 inch foil pan.
  • With a pastry blender,or,two forks,cut in the butter with the oats,brown sugar,and flour,until it looks coarse crumbs.
  • Sprinkle over apple mixture.
  • Cover tightly with foil.
  • Place pan on center of rack in grill.
  • Close top on grill,and grill for 15 minutes.
  • Uncover pan close top on grill,and grill for 30 minutes.
  • Until nice and bubbly.
  • Remove from grill but keep warm.
  • ~For your Porter Sauce~
  • In pan,combine all ingredients for sauce.
  • Bring to boil,reduce to simmer,and cook for about 12 minutes,or,until your sauce is to your liking in consistency.
  • ~To Serve~Pour hot porter sauce over grilled apple crisp,scoop up a nice vanilla Ice cream and place it along side of the dessert...pouring just a thimble full of Porter Beer over...and then...give it a pinch of apple pie spice~
