My personal taste leaves the mushrooms out, although I can use the soup. Although this is a slow-cooker recipe, it could also be made on top of the stove or in the oven. On top of the stove would require more attention and less time. Read more The meat probably wouldn't be as tender, though. I'm thinking about adding sliced carrots to this and maybe peas near the end of cooking to make it more visually interesting (and providing vegetables without having separate pots). I'm wondering if you could use pork cubes and convert this to a green chile stew by adding green chiles and tomatoes. I'm betting it would work. See less
Ingredients
- 3/4-1 1/2 lbs stew meat shopping list
- 1 env. Lipton onion soup shopping list
- 1 can. golden mushroom soup (or cream of asparagus) shopping list
- 1/2 c. red wine shopping list
- 1 can mushrooms, drained (optional, in my book) shopping list
How to make it
- Mix all together in crock pot and cook all day on low. Serve over rice
- or egg noodles.
