Cake Balls

- 2 cake mix boxes shopping list
- 1 cup coconut flakes shopping list
- 1 can frosting shopping list
- 30 ounces chocolate chips shopping list
How to make it
- Mix and bake cake mix as directed (round pans).
- While warm, crumble cake in bowl.
- Mix in frosting and coconut flakes.
- Refrigerate at least 2 hours.
- After chilled, form 1" round balls (about 100), and place on parchment/waxed paper.
- Freeze at least 6 hours.
- Using double boiler, melt chocolate.
- Working in small batches (2-3 balls) dip in chocolate and place back on parchment paper. Quickly add topping of choice (sprinkles, coconut flakes, etc).
- Variations:
- Toppings: Sprinkles, coconut flakes, nuts, chopped sunflower seeds, lined icing, etc.
- Fillings: Substitute coconut flakes with raspberries or orange zest, add chambord or grand marnier to dipping chocolate or frosting, etc
