How to make it

  • clean and wash the rice and dal.
  • Add milk to the rice and dal and cook till they become soft.
  • mix jaggery with water and boil it until it dissolves in water and become thick.
  • Then mix this with cooked rice.
  • stir well in medium heat
  • add ghee and crushed cardamom
  • combine well.
  • garnish with cashew and raisins and serve hot.
  • you can also use fried cashew and raisins.

    This looks very intriguing. I've never heard of Jaggery before though. I 'Googled' it and it almost looks like palm sugar. I do have a nice Indian Grocery Store nearby. I'll check it out and see if I can purchase it there. Thank you for sharing the recipe.
