How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a large bowl,combine 1/4 cup water,lemon juice,butter,egg,and milk.
  • Add 2 cups flour,baking soda,salt,sugar,and remaining water.
  • Mix in remaining flour to make a fluffy dough.
  • Knead until stretchy,then roll to make a 16 x 12 inch rectangle.
  • Cut in half to make 2 8 x 6 inch rectangles. Set aside.
  • In another bowl,mix together brown sugar,cinnamon,and butter.
  • Add one rectangle of dough and combine on low speed until sticky.
  • On the other rectangle, cut it into small rectangles.
  • Generously dust a surface with flour.
  • Roll the sticky mixture and cut into smaller rectangles.
  • Wrap 2 rectangles over 1 sticky rectangle. Repeat on other pastries.
  • Bake for 15 mins. Put whipped cream in a pastry bag.
  • Once pastries are finished, decorate with cream and refrigerate briefly.

    Haven't tried these without yeast. How inventive of you. Can't wait to try this recipe and compare. I appreciate your sharing this post. Hope it's cooler up in Calgary than down here in Florida. 100 degrees yesterday and still fighting the oil deposits.
