- 3/4 Cup Uncooked oatmeal shopping list
- 1/4 Cup Bran cereal shopping list
- 4 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 4 teaspoons baking soda shopping list
- 2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- 4 eggs,beaten shopping list
- 4 Cups buttermilk shopping list
- 4 Tablespoons oil shopping list
- 1 Cup Fresh (or) Frozen Huckleberries shopping list
How to make it
- Mix the dry ingredients.
- Beat the eggs.
- Add the buttermilk and oil,mix well.
- Stir the egg mixture into the flour mixture until just mixed.
- If it seems to thick, add more liquid.
- Just before frying on a hot griddle, gently fold in the berries, you want them to stay whole, only to pop open when they meet the heat of the grill.
- Did your darlin' come in late,or better yet,in the wee hours of the morning?
- Glide over to the table with these in one hand and a Whiskey Sour ( hair of the dog ) in the other, knock that stetson off his head, place plate and glass on table, lean one of your shoulders down and forward, give him that sideward grin that only he knows and say...
- "You can be my Huckleberry"
- Believe he will be thinking about carrying a pocket watch from now on.
