Polka-dot Cookie Bars

- 1 cup butter, softened shopping list
- 3/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 3/4 cup packed brown sufar shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1/2 tsp almond extract shopping list
- 2 1/4 cups flour shopping list
- 1/3 cup baking cocoa shopping list
- 1 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 pkg. (10 to 11 oz.) vanilla or white chips shopping list
How to make it
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and the sugars until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time.
- Beat well after each addition.
- Beat in the extract
- Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add to the creamed mixture.
- Set aside 1/4 cup vanilla chips.
- Stir in the remaining chips into the batter.
- Spread into a greased 15 x 10 inch baking pan.
- Sprinkle with the reserved chips.
- Bake at 375 F for 18-23 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
- Cool on a wire rack.
- Cut into bars.
