How to make it

  • Combine chicken broth, chic soup, canned chicken, carrots, onion,
  • garlic salt, and pepper in a cast iron stock pot.
  • Cook over fire until broth starts to boil.
  • Mix Bisquick with Italian seasoning and add water until a sticky dough forms.
  • Drop blobs of dough (dumplings) into soup broth, and continue simmering until dumplings are cooked through. top with parsley if wanted Serve and enjoy!

    I too grew up with the tube biscuits, which I still think is easier while camping but the fresh dough sounds great for home.

    Please consider adding this to the Girl Scout Recipes group. You are the only one that can do that since it is your recipe. You'll have to join the group but you can always leave it after you add this dish, tia

    I might even go so far as to skip the Bisquick and pinch off a can of jumbo biscuits into the broth. But that's only if I'm at home and pressed for time. GREAT recipe, Neighbor.
