How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Melt butter in baking dish. (I use a Pyrex loaf pan.) and pour in fruit. Sprinkle the 2 T. sugar over the fruit.
  • Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and milk. Pour over fruit.
  • Put in preheated oven and bake for 1 hour.
  • Remove from oven and serve hot or cold with whipped cream or ice cream.
  • Notes:
  • 1. Check for doneness after about 45 minutes if your oven tends to run a little hot.
  • 2. I've used many, many different fruits for this, canned, frozen and fresh and it's soooo easy!. It's really good with fresh dewberries and is something I make each time I pick a bunch of them.
