How to make it

  • Heat oven to 375 F. In a medium bowl mix beef, crumbs, onion, ketchup, worcestershire sauce, mustard and salt.
  • Press mixture into bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch glass pie plate and bake 15 minutes.
  • In a 3 qt saucepan bring water, butter, garlic powder and salt to a boil. Remove from heat and add milk. Stir in mashed potato flakes and blend with a fork.
  • Stir in all but 1/2 c up of the cheese.
  • Remove partially baked beef crust from the oven and pour off any drippings.
  • Spoon and spread potato mixture evenly into crust. Bake 10-15 minutes longer or until beef is cooked through.
  • Sprinkle with remaining cheese and bacon and return to the over 5 minutes to melt the cheese.
  • Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
