Bourbon Cake

- 1/2 lb. of butter shopping list
- 2 cups of sugar shopping list
- 5 eggs shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla shopping list
- 2 cups of sifted flour shopping list
- Glaze: shopping list
- 1 cup of sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup of butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup of water shopping list
- 1/2 cup of bourbon shopping list
How to make it
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add eggs one at atime, beating weil.
- Add salt and vanilla.
- Mix in sifted flour.
- Pour into greased floured tube pan.
- Bake at 325 degrees for one hour and ten minutes.
- Remove from the oven.
- Pierce the cake thoroughly with a chopstick.
- Glaze cake while it is still hot.
- Mix sugar water and butter.
- Heat until the sugar disssolves.
- cook five minutes longer.
- Take off heat and add the bourbon.
- Pour over the cake.
- Cool completely in the pan before attempting removal.
