How to make it

  • Cream the sausage and the sugar. (The sausage is your "butter").
  • Add eggs and beat well for five minutes.
  • Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with the milk.
  • Fold in apples and pecans.
  • Pour into 10 tube pan that is well greased and floured.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes.
  • Cool.
  • Serve with a fresh whipped cream, beaten with a little sugar and a dash of cinnamon.

    This is the second sausage cake recipe I have tried. This is excellent. We are going to use this recipe as stuffing for Thanksgiving.

    My husband loves minced meat pie - this sounds similar to that same concept of fruits, spices and minced meat...I will have to try this for him!
