This is THE BEST chocolate cake I have ever made. It is very moist and not too sweet - you really taste the chocolate more than the sugar. Chocolate cake made with sourdough starter? Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sourdough starter shopping list
- 1/4 cup powdered milk shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 cup warm water shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 3 oz melted, unsweetened chocolate shopping list
How to make it
- Mix together starter, milk flour and warm water, and let stand until bubbly (about 2 hours).
- In a separate bowl, cream together sugar, butter, salt, soda, vanilla, and cinnamon, then beat in eggs.
- Add this mixture and melted chocolate to the starter batter and mix until blended.
- Bake at 350 in greased and floured 9"x13" pan for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
