How to make it

  • 1. Heat oven to 350 F.
  • 2. Cut squash in half lengthwise, remove seeds.
  • 3. Cut squash hales crosswise into 1 inch thick slices.
  • 4. Arrange slices in 13 x 9 (3 quart) glass baking dish, cover with foil.
  • 5. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes or until almost tender.
  • 6. Meanwhile in a small saucepan over medium heat, then stir in the brown sugar, syrup and pecans.
  • 7. Cook just until the sugar dissolves, stiring constantly.
  • 8. Remove squash from the oven and spoon the pecan mixture over the squash.
  • 9. Return to the oven and bake an additional 1-15 minutes or until the squash is tender.
