- Your favorite chocolate cake mix or recipe shopping list
- 1 1/2 pints of any flavor ice cream/sorbet shopping list
- 1 1/2 pints of another flavor of ice cream/sorbet shopping list
- For Meringue shopping list
- 8 egg whites shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Instructions for Dome-Zuccotto Bakeware
- 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F and spray the dome pan and the bottom of the dome pan insert with non stick spray and the zuccotto pan also.
- 2. Pour the batter into the fill line on the dome pan and then secure the dome pan insert by turning clockwise and then pour the remaining batter into the zuccotto pan.
- 3. Bake dome pan until ste 50-60 minutes and the zuccotto pan for 25-30 minutes.
- 4. When they are both done remove from oven and cool completely.
- 5. Then pack the base of the cavity in the dome with layers of your favorite ice creams/sorbets. See Photo
- 6. Remove the cake from the zuccotto pan and place over the dome cake and thenplace in the freezer for at least 3 hours longer if possible. See Photo
- 7. Preheat the oven to 500 degrees f.
- 8. In a very clean electric mixer bowl place 8 egg whites (at room temperature) and the 1/4 teaspoon cream or tartar whip for 2 minutes on medium speed increase the speed to high and add the sugar in a slow stream until stiff, glossy peaks form.
- 9. Remove the ice cream dome from the freezer and turn onto an overproof dish and then cover with the meringue mixture and use a spoon to make peaks and then place in preheated oven for 3-5 minutes until golden brown See Photo. and remove and enjoy.
- Instructions without the dome bakeware at request.
