Apple Nut Cake

- One can (19 ounces) apple pie filling shopping list
- One packaged white cake mix (yellow can also be used) shopping list
- 1/2 cup flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil shopping list
- Topping shopping list
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar (I always use dark brown) shopping list
- 1/2 cup flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter,softened shopping list
- 1/2 cup nuts, chopped (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- For the cake, process the apple pie filling in a food processor or blender or use a potato masher, until coarsely chopped.
- In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, pie filling, flour, baking powder, eggs, and oil. Beat on medium for 2 minutes.
- Spread the batter evenly in a 9 X 13-inch, greased cake pan.
- For the topping, combine the sugar, flour, and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Cut in the butter with a pastry blender or fork until crumbly. Stir in nuts if using them.
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the batter.
- Bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes until a cake tester comes out clean.
- Cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before serving/
