From sitbynellie 13 years agoIngredients
- ¾ tbsp. oil (neutral flavour) shopping list
- 1 onion, very finely chopped shopping list
- 1½ slices white bread, crusts cut off, made into breadcrumbs shopping list
- ½ tsp. garlic powder shopping list
- ½ tsp. mustard powder shopping list
- ½ tsp. pepper shopping list
- ¾ tsp. Vegeta or other seasoning mix of your choice shopping list
- ¼ tsp. salt (more or less according to how much salt is in your seasoning mix) shopping list
- 2 tsps. soy sauce (I used light) shopping list
- 2 tsps. worcestershire sauce shopping list
- A generous handful of finely-chopped fresh parsley shopping list
- 455 g. (1 lb.) lean minced turkey shopping list
- a little oil shopping list
How to make it
- In a small non-stick frying pan, heat the oil to medium heat.
- Add the onion. Lower the heat a little and cook, covered, for 5-6 minutes until very soft but not browned, stirring occasionally. Let cool. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, mustard powder, pepper, Vegeta (or other seasoning mix) and salt.
- In another small bowl, mix the soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce.
- In a large bowl, put the turkey mince.
- Mix the meat, dry and wet ingredients and then the parsley together until just combined. Shape into 12 small patties, about 2½" wide and ¾" thick. Reserve a little of the mixture for test-frying.
- Refrigerate the patties for at least 20 minutes.
- In a non-stick skillet, heat some more oil. Fry a little piece of the mixture until done through, and taste for seasoning.
- Cook the patties over medium-low heat for about 12-13 minutes, turning a few times, until done in the middle.
- We had ours with toasted wholegrain bread but serve any way you prefer those little white bread burger buns would be lovely too.
