Chicken Tikka Masala

- Marinade: shopping list
- 100 ml yoghurt shopping list
- 2 garlic cloves, minced shopping list
- 1 tbsp ginger, minced shopping list
- 3 tbsp lemon juice shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder shopping list
- 3/4 tsp ground coriander shopping list
- 1 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped shopping list
- 3 tsp tandoori masala shopping list
- 3 tbsp oil shopping list
- 2 chicken filets in 5cm pieces shopping list
- Sauce: shopping list
- 4 tbsp oil shopping list
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin shopping list
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg shopping list
- 1 garlic clove, minced shopping list
- 1 tbsp ginger, minced shopping list
- 150 grams tomato, crushed (canned is fine) shopping list
- 1 tbsp tomato puree shopping list
- 1/2 tsp turmeric shopping list
- 1 tbsp sour cream shopping list
- 100 ml cream (whichever fat content you like) shopping list
- salt and chilli powder to taste shopping list
- Topping: shopping list
- Handful of cashews, chopped shopping list
- Handful of fresh coriander, chopped shopping list
How to make it
- Marinade:
- Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl and add the chicken. Cover and leave in the fridge overnight (or for at LEAST an hour). Cook in marinade for 20 minutes at 200C (390F).
- Sauce:
- Heat the oil and add the spices. When mixed add the tomatoes, ginger and garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes before ading the sour cream and cream.
- Add the now cooked chicken (including the marinade) and stir well.
- Serve with chopped coriander and cashews.
