Fougasse Bread

- 1 1/2 cups warm water shopping list
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast shopping list
- 4 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2 tablespoon dried basil shopping list
- 1/2 tablespoon groud savory shopping list
- 1/2 tablespoon dried thyme shopping list
- 1/2 tablespoon dried rosemary shopping list
- 2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- 4 tablespoons olive oil shopping list
- small amount of cornmeal shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Mix all the herbs together and place half in the bread machine with the rest of the ingredients and save half for the top of the bread. and then put the rest of above ingredients except the cornmeal in the bread machine according to your manufacturers instructions. I also place my salt in with the liquid.
- 2. when the dough cycle is complete remove the dough and punch down on to a lightly floured surface and cut in two and shape into oval shapes and place on a a baking sheet sprinkled lightly with cornmeal. and brush each loaf with olive oil and make cuts in the top of the loaf and sprinkle with the rest of the herbs Cover and let rise for about 20 minutes and then bake in a preheated oven at 450 degrees F for about 20 minutes
