How to make it

  • First you can preheat oven 350 degrees.
  • Now butter 2 9 inch pans.
  • Next you want to mix in a bowl the dry ingredients.
  • Then you can add in the eggs, milk, oil, and the vanilla.
  • Blend this on medium for approx. 2 min.
  • Next you can pour into pans.
  • This should bake approx. 30-35 min.
  • When they come out of the oven , they will need to cool approx. 10 min.
  • Cool and serve.

    This recipe is exactly like foodnetworks Cathy Lowe's recipe except that she uses 1 tsp of vanilla instead of 2. Mix dry ingredients with a wooden spoon and set aside. In a small bowl combine eggs, milk, oil and vanilla. Beat well with hand mixer. Slowly add boiling water and mix. Add wet ingredients to flour mixture and fold and stir until smooth. Bake and enjoy a delicious moist and chocolatety cake.

    Ditto, what should be done with the water? I added the water with the oil, but it looked like it became too watery. It expanded and dripped over the pans, so I think I shouldn't have added it. Unfortunately, I made it as a gift for someone and it fell in the middle. I can't use it for that, so I will try it myself, when it cools, but I wish I hadn't used this recipe.
