Vietnamese Banh Mi Sandwich

- 1 pound pork Sliced thinly about 1/8"- 1/4" thickness (chops, shoulder, or loin) shopping list
- "Marinade" shopping list
- 3 cloves garlic - crushed shopping list
- 3 tablespoon fish sauce shopping list
- 2 teaspoons sugar shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper shopping list
- 1 teaspoon black pepper shopping list
- 2 tablespoons shallots - finely chopped shopping list
- 1/4 cup vegetable or grapeseed oil shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoon sesame seed oil shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- "Sandwich" shopping list
- French bread is what I prefer but any bread is fine shopping list
- 1/2 Brussle cilantro shopping list
- 1/2 red onion diced shopping list
- 1/2 cucumber sliced thinly shopping list
- 1 carrot shredded shopping list
- Optional shopping list
- 2 Fresh Jalepenos Diced shopping list
- Mayo shopping list
How to make it
- Mix all the marinade items above together. Let sit in fridge for 1 hour stir, then add the pork and let sit in the fridge for 1 more hour.
- Cook Pork and marinade on med-high heat till Pork browns and sauce thickens.
- Once pork is cooked cut into strips.
- Lightly mayo 1 side of the bread
- The other side should have Cucumber sliced thinly
- On top of the cucumber place the meat
- Then to the mayo add your whole cilantro stems and all layer it so the cilantro leaf is throughout the whole sandwich.
- Ontop of the cilantro add the diced Red Onion and shredded carrots with optional Jalapenos
