Ingredients

How to make it

  • Make cake per recipe/mix directions and let cool completely.
  • Make frosting and lightly frost cake, including all down the sides See Photo. Don't over frost the top, make sure to keep some frosting available.
  • Firmly press cookies into the frosting on the sides of the cake. If you don't plan to serve the cake within a couple hours, I strongly suggest that you use the frosting to act as a "mortar" between the cookies. This will help to keep the cookies from falling apart. See Photo
  • Toss coconut with green food coloring. (I used a zipper bag and tossed it around:)
  • Sprinkle the coconut over about half of the cake. See Photo
  • Sprinkle crumbs over the other half.(you can also use the crumbs over the entire cake, but add the green coconut over the top of half of that, instead...making dirt under the grass :)
  • Slice large marshmallows from one end to create flower petals.
  • Arrange petals around small gum drops on the grass side of the cake to create flowers. See Photo
  • On the dirt side, plant carrots by slicing large orange gum drops off at the rounded top, pressing lightly into the crumbs.
  • Slice off pieces of small green gum drops to create the stems. See Photo
  • Now, I wanted something else to "plant", so I dotted small red gum drops with gel to create strawberries See Photo. If you can come up with something better, please feel free! :)
  • Pine cones make adorable trees.
  • Arrange the marshmallow bunnies.
  • Take a photo then cut into that bugger and Happy Spring!
  • Thanks for looking and thanks for indulging me. :)

500 recipes is pretty amazing, considering the originality in all of them. For me to even relate to that I guess it would be like writing my 500th song, or something. That's insane!! Good for you, and better for GR and the people that benefit from them all.

This looks like a great recipe to share with my girlfriends! As we don't eat marshmallows, any suggestions on making the flowers with something else?
