Italian Meatballs (fannie Farmer Cookbook Recipe)

- 1 lb ground beef shopping list
- 1/2 Cup Dried bread crumbs shopping list
- 1 clove garlic, minced shopping list
- 2 Tbsp minced parsley shopping list
- 1 Tbsp basil, crumbled shopping list
- 1 egg, lightly beaten shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper shopping list
- 2 Tbsp oil shopping list
- 4 Cups tomato sauce shopping list
- 1/2 lb grated parmesan cheese shopping list
- **NOTE: I would suggest using my Homemade tomato sauce recipe for the tomato sauce! It's my grandmother's recipe and it is absolutely DELICIOUS! shopping list
How to make it
- Combine the beef, breadcrumbs, garlic, parsley, basil, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Mix thoroughly and shape into balls 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
- Melt the oil in a saucepan. Brown the meatballs lightly on all sides; drain off the fat.
- Add tomato sauce, cover, and simmer 40 minutes to an hour.
- **NOTE: Great served over spaghetti or as a side for almost any other Italian pasta dish!
