Apple-filled Coffee Cake

Coffee cake with a twist. This is one of the easier cakes I've ever made. A recipe of my late grandmothers. You can omit the pecans if you'd like. Great for company.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, room temperature shopping list
- 1 1/4 cups sugar, divided shopping list
- 1/2 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 8 ounces sour cream shopping list
- 2 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 1 cup finely peeled and chopped apples shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans shopping list
How to make it
- In a mixing bowl, cream together butter, 1 cup sugar and brown sugar.
- Beat in eggs.
- Add sour cream.
- Sift dry ingredients into mixture.
- Add vanilla.
- Beat for 3 minutes with an electric mixture.
- In a seperate bowl, mix and toss apples, cinnamon, 1/4 cup sugar and pecans (if using).
- Into a greased 9x13-inch pan, pour half the batter.
- Layer apple mixture over the batter.
- Pour remaining batter over top.
- Spread evenly.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
- Sit with friends and a good cup of joe and enjoy!!!!
