Ingredients

How to make it

  • heat oil in frying pan deep enough for doughnuts to float
  • mix milk, powdered sugar, vanilla, til smooth, set aside.
  • separate biscuits, cut holes in each one.
  • when oil is hot fry doughnuts on one side for about 60 seconds. turn over and fry for another 60 seconds or to your preference of browness
  • drain thoroughly on paper towels. when cool to touch dip doughnuts in glaze on one side or both. i did both sides, then let the doughnut drip and lay on a plate or a wire rack to drain.
  • i ate these doughnuts warm and they were really good
  • i would suggest serving right away . i dont know how well they keep

Yes, these have always been a favorite in my family. My aunt usually makes them, along with a wonderful chocolate glaze. These are one of those simple and delicious creations that you make time and again...could they be a native Texas recipe?? Lol! (Native Texan here, lived in Baytown area for 20 yrs before moving to NJ)

My mom used to make these all the time when I was kid, now I make them for my son :) they are a great quick little snack. And no, they don't keep well at all...but then again there are never any left anyway lol
