Apples, Caramelized Onions And Sage

- 2 Medium sized onion, thinly sliced shopping list
- 2 apples, peeled and thickly sliced shopping list
- 1/2 Tbsp Pine honey, any will do, but this kind has a stronger flavor shopping list
- sage, salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- 1 Tbsp oil shopping list
How to make it
- Heat a frying pan over medium high heat and add the oil. When it is hot, add the onions and a couple of pinches of salt and some pepper.
- Cook the onions until they begin to turn brown. Don't let them turn burn.
- Add the apples, cover, drop the heat to medium and let cook about 3 minutes.
- Remove the lid, add some sage and stir, cover again an let cook about 3 more minutes.
- Stir them again and add the honey. Stir often and cook just until the apples are tender.
- (If you want to prepare this in the same pan as pork chops, cook the onions before adding the chops to the pan. When they get soft, push them around the outside of the pan and fry the chops in the middle until done and set aside to keep warm. Drain off the excess oil and add the apples. The onions will be brown already.)
