Paula Deen's Baked Potato Soup

This is the best Baked Potato soup I've ever had. The only thing I did differently was I did not add all the bacon to the soup and used some for garnish. So simple to make and loved by all. Paula's recipe, my photo.
Ingredients
- 8 slices bacon shopping list
- 1 onion, diced shopping list
- 1/2 cup flour shopping list
- 3 (14.5 oz.) cans chicken broth shopping list
- 5 potatoes, baked, peeled and diced shopping list
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes shopping list
- 2 cups half & half shopping list
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated shopping list
- 1 cup sour cream shopping list
- salt & pepper to taste shopping list
- Garnish shopping list

- sour cream shopping list
- chives shopping list
How to make it
- In a Dutch oven cook bacon until crisp
- Remove and crumble, reserving drippings
- Saute onion in bacon drippings until tender
- Add salt and pepper
- Stir in flour and cook for one minute, stirring constantly
- Slowly add chicken broth; cook, stirring constantly until thick and bubbly Add potatoes, parsley and half & half; cook for 10 minutes
- Stir in cheese and sour cream.
- Garnish with cheese, bacon, chives and sour cream.
