How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350
  • In skillet over medium heat, cook onion until tender, adding garlic 1 minute before onions are done
  • Set aside to cool
  • In mixing bowl, add all ingredients except bread and gently combine (If mixture is too wet, add more bread crumbs, if too dry, add more ketchup)
  • Form into rectangle shape
  • Place bread into bottom of loaf pan (to absorb fat)
  • Place meat mixture on top of bread
  • Bake 45-55 minutes or until done

    I was going to comment that using bread to absorb the fat was a really neat idea...but I see that Frankieanne beat me to it... :)
