How to make it

  • In a cup mix water, yeast and sugar. Let the mixture rest for 5min or until it is foamy.
  • In a bowl, mix all dry ingredients and add the yeast mixture and blend for 2min. Set the dough aside, in warm place, covered, for 40 min.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the syrup. Bring all the syrup ingredients in sauce pan and let it boil for 5min.
  • After the dough has raised, heat oil in a deep frying pan and using your left hand pick from the dough and using spoon from your right hand, pick small balls from the dough and drop it in the frying pan See Photo. Fry the puffs, turning them occasionally with slotted spoon until they are browned on all sides. Drain them and then drop them in syrup See Photo. Let it soak for 30seconds and serve it in a plate.
  • *NOTE: Syrup can be replaced by honey or icing sugar
