Chicken Masala

- chicken - 1 kg shopping list
- onions(big) - 4 (sliced thin) shopping list
- tomato(medium) - 2 roughly chopped shopping list
- 5 cashews nuts shopping list
- yoghurt/curd - 2 tbsp shopping list
- ginger paste - 1 tsp shopping list
- garlic paste - 2 tsp shopping list
- Red chilly powder - 2 tbsp or as reqd shopping list
- turmeric powder - 1 tsp shopping list
- coriander powder - 1 tbsp shopping list
- pepper powder - 1 tsp shopping list
- cumin powder - 1/2 tsp shopping list
- cinnamon 1 small stick shopping list
- 3 cloves shopping list
- 1 bay leaves shopping list
- salt for taste shopping list
- oil for cooking shopping list
- coriander leaves for garnishing shopping list
How to make it
- Marinate the chicken with little chilly powder, turmeric powder, yoghurt and salt for 30 mins.
- Heat oil in a big pan. Add bay leave, cinnamon, cloves and cumin and fry for a min.Add onions and fry, till they turn brown. Add the ginger and garlic paste and saute. Add tomatoes and fry, until they blend well.
- Add chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and pepper powder and fry for 2 mins.
- Switch off the flame and let it cool. Add the cashews and the above sauteed mixture into a blender or mixer grinder. Grind them into a fine paste adding enough water.
- Heat some oil in the same pan.Fry the marinated chicken for 5 mins. Add the spice paste onto the chicken.Cover and cook, until the chicken is done.
- Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves. Serve with steam boiled rice or naan or Chappati....
