How to make it

  • In a saucepan large enough for the fish to rest comfortably, add all ingredients except salmon.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes.
  • Add salmon to the liquid, bring back to a boil.
  • If serving hot, allow about to cook 6 minutes for every pound of fish. Remove immediately from the liquid when the fish is cooked.
  • If chilling, boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat and cover tightly.
  • Let sit to cool completely, this may take up to 5 hours.
  • Drain fish and place on serving plate. Remove skin.
  • Cover with Saran wrap and chill completely (preferably overnight) before serving.
