Holly Grit Balls Batman!

- Holy grit Balls shopping list
- 1 ½ cups cooked grits(cooked according to package directions) shopping list
- 2 slices of American cheese shopping list
- 1 or 2 sliced green onions (more or less to taste)(single not the whole bunch! Lol) shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- 2 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 2 tablespoons half and half shopping list
- Pinch of garlic powder shopping list
- Couple of dashes of hot sauce(more if you want a hotter version) shopping list
- Dash of Tony’s or other Cajun blend shopping list
- 1/3 cup Mexican Blend Shredded cheese shopping list
- egg wash shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- ¼ cup milk shopping list
- Dash hot sauce shopping list
- Breading: shopping list
- 1 cup Italian Style bread Crumbs shopping list
- Dash coarse ground black pepper shopping list
- Cream Sauce shopping list
- 2 tablespoons butter shopping list
- ½ cup heavy cream shopping list
- Leaves from celery(I used about 2 teaspoons) shopping list
- Few dashes of hot sauce shopping list
- ¼ teaspoon oregano (I used dried) shopping list
- Pinch garlic salt shopping list
- ¼ teaspoon Tony’s or other Cajun blend shopping list
- (If you want you can add a little diced jalapeno to spice it up!) shopping list
- vegetable oil for frying! shopping list
How to make it
- Fix the grits according to package directions.
- Stir in half and half, butter, salt and pepper, and sliced cheese.
- Let cool for at least 1 hour.
- When ready to make stir the other ingredients (ball recipe)into the grits and roll the grits into small one- two bite size balls.
- Beat egg with milk and hot sauce.
- Dip ball into egg wash and then into breading.
- Heat oil in small pan over med/ med low heat,
- drop balls and cook until lightly browned.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a small saucepan, Melt butter, Add remaining ingredients and let cook over med/ med-low heat for 2 to 3 minutes.
- If you are adding jalapeno, do it now and continue to cook 1 minute.
- Serve balls with sauce drizzled over or on the side!
