How to make it

  • Fix the grits according to package directions.
  • Stir in half and half, butter, salt and pepper, and sliced cheese.
  • Let cool for at least 1 hour.
  • When ready to make stir the other ingredients (ball recipe)into the grits and roll the grits into small one- two bite size balls.
  • Beat egg with milk and hot sauce.
  • Dip ball into egg wash and then into breading.
  • Heat oil in small pan over med/ med low heat,
  • drop balls and cook until lightly browned.
  • Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • In a small saucepan, Melt butter, Add remaining ingredients and let cook over med/ med-low heat for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • If you are adding jalapeno, do it now and continue to cook 1 minute.
  • Serve balls with sauce drizzled over or on the side!
  • Enjoy!
