Magic Baked-on Frosting

As a kid, I always marveled at this when my grammy would do it. It was always a topping for her yellow cake and, sometimes, for her chocolate cake. It's fun for kids to see.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar shopping list
- 3/4 cup coconut shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/3 cup Crisco shopping list
- 2 tablespoons cream shopping list
How to make it
- Bake cake as you normally would.
- Set oven at 375 degrees.
- In the meantime, combine sugar, coconut, salt, Crisco and cream in a small saucepan.
- Cook and stir until sugar melts.
- When cake comes out of the oven, spread onto top of the warm cake.
- Bake at 375 degres for 10-12 minutes, until lightly browned.
- The topping melts right on the cake and tah-dah....instantly frosted!
