How to make it

  • In skillet, heat oil over medium high heat
  • Season ribs on both sides with pepper
  • Cook on both sides until golden brown
  • Transfer to slow cooker
  • Add garlic to skillet and stir constantly until golden
  • Add soy sauce, broth, brown sugar and red pepper flakes
  • Stir until sugar is dissolved
  • Pour over ribs
  • Cover slow cooker and cook on low for 6-7hours or until meat is tender Remove ribs from slow cooker to plate
  • In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and cold water until smooth
  • Whisk cornstarch slurry into sauce in slow cooker
  • Return ribs to slow cooker
  • Turn to high and cook 30 minutes, until sauce is slightly thickened
