How to make it

  • Whisk the eggs whites until it forms soft picks. Set aside.
  • Whisk together sugar, butter and egg yolks. Add corn starch, flour and milk.
  • After well combined add cinnamon and baking powder. Gently fold in the egg whites.
  • Pour the batter into a lined springform pan.
  • Put in the oven for about 30 minutes or until a tooth pick inserted comes out clean.
  • Blend all the frosting ingredients and pour them into a sauce pan oven medium heat. DO NOT stop stiring for 15 minutes.
  • Let it cool down and then frost the cake. I use to cut the cake horizontally, pour part of the frosting on one part (I eye ball the quantity, use your judgement) and cover with the remaining cake. Then I pour over the remaining frosting and sprinkle with cinnamon powder. Looks pretty ;)

I forgot to mention that if you let the condensed milk cook further 20 minutes you get dulche de leche.
