How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Cream the butter and brown sugar.
  • Add egg yolks and salt. Add flour and oatmeal and knead in.
  • Pat batter onto a greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until lightly browned.
  • Remove from oven.
  • While hot, spread with jam and top with chocolate.
  • Beat egg whites until soft peaks. Beat in sugar and whip to stiff peaks.
  • Fold in nuts.
  • Gently spread on top of jam and chocolate.
  • Bake 25 minutes.
  • Cool completely. Cut into squares or bars.
