How to make it

  • Place all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.
  • Add enough boiling water, adding gradually to wet all well
  • Stir very well
  • Cover and set aside 5 minutes so everything will absorb water.
  • Mixture should not be mushy but soft enough to shape into patties
  • Heat some oil ( Tbs or so ) in a non stick pan
  • Cook burgers over medium high heat until browned and golden on each side, turning burgers a few times as needed
  • Note: burgers will be soft so turn carefully, and they will firm up more with chilling
  • Transfer burgers to a plate.
  • Let cool and chill overnight
  • Then grill burgers to heat them
  • Serve on buns with favorite condiments
