Fancy Garlic Bread

- 6 to 8 large garlic cloves, chopped shopping list
- 1/4 cup chopped flat-leaf parsley shopping list
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh oregano leaves shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (it seems like a lot of salt, so maybe go a little light, but the salty flavor is what makes it.) shopping list
- Freshly ground black pepper shopping list
- 1/2 cup olive oil shopping list
- 1 loaf of your favorite grocery store bread. Pick something crusty, like ciabatta. I always use this Portugese Salaio bread they have at my grocery store. Just think crusty italian-type bread shopping list
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter...I use olivio or something margarine-like shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Place the peeled, whole garlic cloves in the bowl of a food processor and process until minced.
- Add the parsley, oregano, salt and pepper and pulse a few times till it starts to look kind of pesto like. Not totally blended though.
- Heat the olive oil in a medium saute pan and add the garlic mixture. Remove the pan from the heat.
- Slice the bread in half horizontally, and spread the butter on top half. Spread the garlic mixture on the bottom half of the bread, and put the halves together.
- Wrap the bread in aluminum foil.
- Place the bread in the oven and bake for 5 minutes. Open the foil, and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes.
- Cut into slices and enjoy! Trust me, there will be no left overs!
