- Cake: shopping list
- 1 pkg cake mix shopping list
- 1 batch basic butter frosting (below) shopping list
- 12 oz vanilla/chocolate flavored candy coating shopping list
- 12 oz semisweet/dark/white baking chocolate shopping list
- Basic butter Frosting: shopping list
- 1/4 c. softened butter shopping list
- 2 and 2/3 c. powdered sugar shopping list
- 4 to 6 Tbsp milk shopping list
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract shopping list
How to make it
- Prepare cake mix according to the directions on the package and bake in a cake pan.
- While baking, prepare butter frosting as follows. Mix butter, 2/3 c. powdered sugar, 2 Tbsp milk and vanilla. Then add additional 2 c. powdered sugar and milk as needed, until combined.
- Cool cake on wire rack, then crumble into a large mixing bowl. Add butter frosting and mix until combined.
- Drop mix into 1 and 1/2" mounds onto a baking sheet covered in wax paper. Roll into balls & freeze overnight.
- Heat candy coating & baking chocolate in a small saucepan. Pour over cake balls & allow to harden.
- Once set, place in wax paper-lined, airtight container & store in fridge up to 1 week or freeze up to 1 month.
