Mocha Sour Cream Cake

- 1 stick buter softened shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 3 eggs room temperature shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1 Tbs instant coffee powder shopping list
- 1 Tbs warm water shopping list
- 2 1/4 cups flour shopping list
- dash salt shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder ( no baking soda in recipe ) shopping list
- 1/3 cup sour cream shopping list
- coffee icing: shopping list
- 2 tsp instant coffee powder shopping list
- 1-2 Tbs warm water to dissolve coffee powder shopping list
- 1 cup powdered sugar shopping list
- 3/4 oz. butter melted ( a bit under 2 Tbs ) shopping list
How to make it
- Cream butter with sugar fluffy
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla
- Beat in the coffee dissolved in the water
- Sift flour and baking powder and salt
- Beat flour mix into batter
- Beat in the sour cream to blend
- Batter will be thick
- Place batter in a well oiled or buttered 11x7 pan
- Smooth batter in pan and tap on counter to release any bubbles
- Bake in a preheated 325F oven about 45 minutes or tested done in center.
- Cool in pan on rack
- Meanwhile make icing by beating all ingredients together.
- Cut pieces from the pan when cold and spoon on the icing
