Dark Moist Bran Muffins Recipe
These are very tasty. They are moist and great for breakfast, brunch or snack. Enjoy

Ingredients
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1-1/2 cups pure bran
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/4 teaspoon soda
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup dark molasses
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Directions
  1. Combine flour, bran, sugar, salt and soda then mix well.
  2. Combine buttermilk, egg, molasses and butter then add all at once to dry ingredients.
  3. Stir just enough to moisten flour mixture.
  4. Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full and bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

I am a sucker for molasses. I think I was the only kid, way back all those years, that loved bran muffins too. This sounds like a really good recipe. Thanks for posting!


Your welcome. I'm in the same boat, I have always loved bran and molasses even as a kid when bran was considered "old folks" food. I love this recipe and don't make it often enough.
