Irresistible Creamed Corn

Using frozen summer sweet corn on the cob from the freezer, which I now cut off the cob ,this quick and easy recipe I adapted from Allrecipes is quite outstanding- well my hubby said so! Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh corn kernels ( fresh or thawed frozen ) shopping list
- 1 cup heavy cream shopping list
- 1/2 stick butter shopping list
- 1-2 Tbs sugar to taste- depends on how sweet the corn is shopping list
- salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste shopping list
- 2 Tbs flour shopping list
- Additional cream if desired shopping list
- 4 oz cubed sharp cheddar cheese ( or any kind you like ) shopping list
How to make it
- In a heavy duty pan place the corn, butter,heavy cream and sugar to taste. Stir to melt butter and dissolve sugar
- Bring to a boil
- Then lower heat to medium
- Add the flour and cook and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens and flour cooked.
- It too thick, thin with more cream is desired.
- Season to taste as desired
- Stir in the cubed cheese to melt
- Serve hot or warm
