Ingredients

How to make it

  • Get out a large bowl. Put the hamburger, egg, bread crumbs, broth, prepared vegetables and seasoning into the bowl. Start mixing and mashing everything together with your hands. Continue to mix and mash until everything is uniformly distributed, and the broth is fully incorporated. Press the mixture into a 9 by 5 inch loaf pan, or shape into a loaf and place on a rimmed pan. Smooth out the top so it will be pretty. Bake this at 350° for at half an hour, take the loaf out of the oven and spread on the chili sauce. Bake for 30-45 more minutes. Remove the meatloaf from the oven and allow it to sit for a couple of minutes to firm up. Drain off any fat.
  • ***NOTE: The bread crumbs are not written in stone. Depending on what I have available, I have substituted dry oatmeal, or 4 slices of toasted crumbled bread, even cracker crumbs with pretty good results.
