Spiced Crock-pot Applesauce

- 5-8 apples depending on the variety, sliced shopping list
- 4 tablespoons of coconut or palm sugar shopping list
- 3-4 cinnamon sticks shopping list
- 2 star anises pieces shopping list
- 2 whole cloves shopping list
- 1 small piece of raw ginger peeled and chopped shopping list
- 2 tablespoon lemon juice shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Place chopped ginger into the bottom of the crockpot followed by 1/3 of the sliced apples.
- 2. Sprinkle 1/2 of the sugar along with the 2 cinnamon sticks and a spice bag that contains the star anise and whole cloves on top of the first layer of apples. See Photo
- 3. Add another layer of sliced apples followed by the rest of the sugar and 1 or 2 cinnamon sticks.
- 4. Add the rest of the apples, add lemon juice and place the lid on top of the crock pot.
- 5. Allow to cook for 7-9 hours on LOW until soft See Photo. Use an immersion blender until smooth or a regular blender if you like chunky applesauce. See Photo
