- ½ c sugar shopping list
- ½ c shortening shopping list
- ½ c molasses shopping list
- 2 tsp cornstarch shopping list
- 1 c flour shopping list
- 1 ¼ c whole-wheat flour shopping list
- 1 ½ tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 1 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 2 tsp fresh grated ginger shopping list
- 1 tsp cloves shopping list
- ½ tsp baking soda shopping list
- ¼ tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tbsp water shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Cream shortening and sugar. Add molasses and beat well.
- Stir all dry ingredients together, add to creamed mixture.
- Stir in water.
- Cover dough and refrigerate one hour.
- Flour rolling pin and board.
- Roll dough out about 1/8” thickness. Cut out gingerbread figures and place ½” apart on ungreased sheets. Dough can be re-rolled several times.
- Bake 8 minutes. Remove cookies immediately to wire racks and cool completely.
