A bit of a take on a casserole. It's a quick meal that isn't hard on a budget.

Ingredients
  • 2 pounds of hot dogs, uncooked, chopped (use beef, pork, turkey or tofu pups)
  • 1 bunch scallions, chopped
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablspoons sugar
  • Jar of tomato sauce
  • 1 ounce cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 pint sour cream
  • 1 package noodles, lasagna or wide noodles
  • Cheddar cheese, grated

Directions
  1. Cook tomato sauce and chopped dogs, water, sugar, garlic and scallions in a Dutch Oven for 20 minutes.
  2. Cook the noodles, add some salt and oil to the water.
  3. In a bowl, blend cream cheese and sour cream.
  4. In a 9x13-inch baking dish, layer noodles.
  5. Top with sour cream mixture and hot dogs and sauce.
  6. Top with grated cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
