Ingredients

How to make it

  • Spray a crockpot with no-stick cooking spray for easy clean-up later. (Just for reference, my crockpot is 3-1/2 quarts and the recipe works well in it.) Place the meat in the crockpot. In a medium bowl, combine beef broth, oregano, and garlic. Pour over meat, cover and cook on LOW 8-10 hours. Remove the meat to a serving dish and, using two forks, shred. Pour *just enough* of the cooking liquid over the meat to keep it moist. Don’t drown it, though! Serve hot on buns or rolls and top meat with sautéed green peppers and onions. My husband likes to very lightly dip the underside of the top bun in the juice before topping his sandwich. He also adds a slice of Provolone cheese to his serving.
  • Note: Use any seasonings and toppings that best suit your taste. As I said, there is no right or wrong way to make these tasty sandwiches.
