Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cream butter and sugar.
  • Add eggs and beat.
  • Add bananas and beat.
  • Mix dry ingredients together (baking powder, baking soda and flour).
  • Add the well-mixed dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with the sour cream.
  • Beat until smooth.
  • Stir in chopped nuts last.
  • Pour into 2 large greased and floured loaf pans and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350 degrees. To test for doneness, insert a sharp knife into center of bread. If it comes out clean, bread is done.
  • This bread is very moist and freezes well.

I halved the recipe and made them into muffins. Baked for about 25 minutes. I left out the nuts though as my kids don't like them. They were absolutely delicious!
Next time I will add some chocolate chips in lieu of the walnuts, but it was certainly delicious without them.

Delightfully Delicious!! Love this recipe, it seems lighter and fluffier than most recipes, not as heavy and dense. I used half the sugar which was plenty sweet enough for my taste and used pecans instead of walnuts. This is now going to be my 'go-to' banana bread recipe!
